Full View of Catherine Howard
Catherine Howard, a miniature attributed to Holbein c. 1540-1. The book I took this from calls her Catherine Howard, as do other sources, including Roy Strong in ATC. There are some sources that disagree and call the image Portrait of an Unknown Lady.
Vellum mounted on playing card, diameter 5,1 cm, Royal Collection, Windsor.
Note that her upper coronet is done in gold embroidery or goldwork that matches part of her gown, which is unusual.
Image from the book Henry VIII and His Court, by Neville Williams (1971). Page #200. The MacMillan Company, New York, N.Y. USA, Second Printing.
