King Louis XII and Queen Mary Tudor

King Louis XII of France and Queen Mary Tudor, by unknown artist. c. 1514.

This image commemorates the marriage of King Louis XII of France, (a man older than this image shows) to the much younger Mary Tudor, King Henry VIII's younger sister. King Louis died eleven weeks later, leaving Queen Mary a dowager Queen. She was now free to marry the man of her own desires, Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk.
