Man's Blue Velvet Henrician Ensemble:Henry VIII In BlueHenry VIII, as recreated by Herbert Norris, in the book Tudor Costume and Fashion. This is a copy of the copy of the Whitehall wall painting, that was lost in a fire in 1698. The biggest difference, besides the fashion style and color change, is the codpiece has been completely removed. My client chose to replicate this particular image, as he preferred the blue and gold design. I used the other Henry VIII image to fill in the missing details, but otherwise stuck closely to this design. The client did not want to wear the brown fur lined gown, as the event he enjoys can be very warm at times, unlike the cooler temps of historical Tudor England.
